Most people believe that hair loss is a problem that’s only experienced by women. The truth is that men too suffer from hair loss, often resulting in baldness. In fact, everyone desires to have thick hair that is free from bald patches in need of growth. The key to overcoming hair loss lies in knowing how to remedy that trigger it in the first place. Some of the most common causes of hair loss include poor diet, inappropriate handling of hair, dehydration and taking certain medications. The list is actually endless. The good thing is that there are things you can do to maintain
1. Proper Diet
In case you are not aware, the appearance of your hair reflects your overall health. If you have not been eating well, your hair will eventually change in color and start falling off when you run a comb through it or when you take a shower. In fact, hair loss that’s induced by poor eating habits indicates that there are some nutrients that are lacking in your body. This in return causes the hair follicles and strands to be weak and stunted. When you start eating a balanced diet that includes vegetables, proteins
2. Scalp Massage with Essential Oils
Massaging your scalp is a reliable way of countering the effect of hair loss. When you massage your scalp regularly, the resulting friction activates dormant follicles. Besides that, massaging enhances the circulation of blood in the scalp which in return causes more hair to grow to replace the strands that have fallen off. For best results, you should massage the scalp with essential oils such as ginseng, Chinese hibiscus, jojoba, almond oil, tea tree oil and coconut oil. These oils help in moisturizing the hair strands. When your hair is moisturized, it can hardly fall off due to dryness. In addition to that, you should drink plenty of water to keep your body hydrated.
3. Use Mild Shampoo
Washing hair with shampoo helps in eliminating bacteria and dirt that causes dandruff to accumulate. However, you should exercise caution when selecting a shampoo that you will be using regularly. This is because some of them contain ingredients that flush out the moisture and natural oils that are found on hair follicles and strands. This causes your hair to be more vulnerable to breaking. You should therefore narrow down to shampoo that has mild ingredients to ensure that your hair remains intact after washing.
4. Use Towel to Dry Hair
Your hair should contain a certain percentage of moisture but not completely dry like we are made to believe Most people like to use electric dryers because they are more efficient and fast. Unfortunately, using these electric dryers encourages hair loss. This is due to the fact that the dryer produces a lot of heat that causes the moisture in the hair to evaporate. This makes your strands to break at the slightest provocation. You should actually use a towel to dry your hair. You should also use the towel gently to avoid intertwining the strands.
5. Allow Hair to Dry before Combing
Like mentioned earlier, the strands break easily when the hair is too dry or moist. Majority of men and women prefer to comb their hair while it’s still wet. However, this is very wrong because it promotes hair loss. After washing your hair, you should wait for sometime before combing it. Besides that, you should use a comb that has bristles that are widely spaced to avoid damaging thick strands.
